The Via dei Cisti runs along the southwestern side of Mount Capanne, starting from the village of Pomonte, heading to the sea below the settlement and then ascending once again, at Ogliera beach, following sections of the provincial road and taking several lanes and trails that run alongside it, sometimes above and sometimes below the surfaced road.

The Via then continues through the rocks of the thermal metamorphic ring, with their diverse geology, as far as Fetovaia beach, enclosed to the west by a picturesque promontory, one of the few irregular features along the rounded coast of western Elba.

After ascending once again to the provincial road, we take path no. 135, quickly entering rich vegetation of broom and myrtle, overlooking the bay bordered by its pale sandy beach bathed in emerald green water, and continuing on to the Sughera area, a flat zone 339 metres above sea level notable for its rockrose maquis and ancient ruins from prehistoric times. From here, path no. 137 leads us equally steeply down towards Seccheto, another picturesque seaside hamlet, once inhabited by farmers and stonecutters who quarried granite and now mainly a tourist destination.
