Education is one of the most important pillars in our personal formation and growth. Quality education means freer and more knowledgeable individuals, a better society, more focus on the public good and on the future generations, and more wealth and wellbeing for all.

At local level, all schools, at all levels, do an outstanding job of educating students and contributing to their development. Like in many other parts of Italy, the teachers, headteachers and technical-administrative staff of the schools in the area very often give back much more cultural value to the community than they receive in monetary terms, and their dedication to their jobs is admirable. As is that of the many other professional figures who, also outside of the school system, help to spread culture.

Aware of how crucial their contribution is for the island's future, the Acqua dell'Elba Foundation has decided to provide all the support it can for the daily work of the people that work in this sector and the cultural growth of students.

To this end, the Acqua dell'Elba Foundation is currently involved in four projects:

• The donation of books to secondary schools on the island of Elba;
• The organisation of annual project work at secondary schools on the island of Elba on topical issues that become an integral part of the Civil Education course;
• The "Di_Verse at School" project carried out in collaboration with artist Alfredo Gioventù;
• The donation of books and other educational material to the Children's Section of the Foresiana Municipal Library of Portoferraio.
