In 2025, the Foundation continued the project "The Way of Essence", a sensory trail along the western coast of the Island of Elba, created in collaboration with the Tuscan Archipelago National Park. Stages 6, 7, and 8 were inaugurated, officially completing the western Elba loop, for a total of 66.5 km. All stages are now equipped with new signage and QR codes along the entire route, providing details on flora, fauna, and sites of historical and naturalistic interest. This project, launched in 2011 and strengthened in 2022, aims to enhance Elba's landscape and promote sustainable hiking tourism.

In 2025, the Foundation continued its collaboration with the 20 diving centers of Elba and with the association "Marevivo" on the "Clean Sea" project. The initiative included a new waste-collection day and an awareness activity involving over 100 children from the "Sandro Pertini" Comprehensive Institute of Portoferraio, the Carducci Comprehensive Institute of Porto Azzurro, and the Giusti Comprehensive Institute of Marciana and Marciana Marina, focusing on marine protection and enhancement. Over 350 kg of waste were collected during the day and later disposed of thanks to ESA (Elbana Servizi Ambientali), also a partner in the project.

Education

In 2025, the Foundation continued to invest in education through the "Books Project". In all secondary schools across the Island of Elba, the project enriched school libraries with 100 new books, two-thirds chosen by the schools and one-third selected annually by the Foundation on a specific theme. For 2025, the chosen theme was Artificial Intelligence. In addition to the book donation, a Project Work was organized-again on the theme of AI-with the support of IULM University, particularly the AI Research Center directed by Professor Guido di Fraia. Throughout the year-long project, students from the fourth year of the Foresi Scientific High School and the third AFM of the Cerboni Institute held a debate on Artificial Intelligence, outlining its pros and cons. The books donated by the Foundation were used to prepare the debate. The goal was to foster critical thinking on a topic of great contemporary relevance.

Culture

The 2025 edition of SEIF - Sea Essence International Festival focused on "Mediterranean Communities". The objective was to celebrate the sea as an ecosystem to be protected while also highlighting its role as a driver of cultural, economic, and social development for coastal communities. For the first time, the festival adopted a widespread format, involving all seven municipalities of the Island of Elba with a rich program of diving experiences, educational events, artistic initiatives, and activities for children. Among the main results of this edition were the official announcement of the expansion of the "Blue Schools" project to all schools in the Tuscan Archipelago, the awarding of the 2025 SEIF Prize to Letizia Magaldi-President of the Kyoto Club Association and Executive Vice President of Magaldi Green Energy-for her commitment to sustainable development and environmental awareness, the inauguration of stages 6-7-8 of the Way of Essence, the opening of the ninth edition of the Acqua dell'Elba Art Prize, and significant public participation at several festival events, including the evening hosted by Vincenzo Schettini with the show "The Physics We Like" and the concert by Valerio Lundini & I VazzaNikki.

In 2025, the Blue Schools project-launched by the European Commission and promoted by IOC-Unesco within the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science, aimed at bringing Ocean Education into schools-officially expanded to the entire Tuscan Archipelago, including the islands of Capraia and Giglio. The announcement was made during SEIF 2025, confirming the Foundation's commitment to spreading a culture of the sea among younger generations.

Social

In June 2025, in Marciana Marina, the Foundation once again supported the EndoElba association in organizing the "CamminEndo" walk: a route starting from the "yellow bench" located at the Acqua dell'Elba headquarters and arriving at the second "yellow bench" in the Cotone district, on the opposite side of town. The yellow benches are symbols of the awareness campaign on endometriosis, each bearing a QR code with information on the condition. The walk was designed to raise awareness among citizens on this important issue.

Art

The 2025 Acqua dell'Elba Art Prize, now in its ninth edition, explored the theme of "Mediterranean Communities", shared with SEIF 2025. Twenty works by students of the Brera Academy of Fine Arts were exhibited at the Telemaco Signorini Visual Arts Hall in Portoferraio from 28 June to 5 July. The three winning works-Biophilia (2025) by Emmanuel Alonzo; Sillabando: Ta-bis-ca (2021-ongoing) by Carlo Di Bella; and the installation My Great-Grandfather Was a Fisherman by Celeste Luna Sala-received scholarships worth 1,500 euros each. The Prize strengthened the link between art and sustainability, contributing to enriching the Acqua dell'Elba Art Collection and the cultural heritage of the Elban community.
