The "Culture" department of the Foundation will be covered by SEIF - Sea Essence International Festival, which also falls under the remit of the Foundation. A case history in the sector of Ocean Literacy, SEIF is an eclectic event, ranging from reason to emotion, at the same time intending to stimulate thoughts and dreams. Its objective is to celebrate the sea and its beauty by means of history, economics, the arts, anthropology, culture, politics, music, cinema, and society, through a multi-disciplinary approach as manifold as are the souls of the sea. Its raison d'être is that of "raising awareness by celebrating beauty".
The event takes place every year in Marciana Marina, an ancient Elban fishing village right in the heart of the Tuscan Archipelago, a privileged vantage point to explore the sea and its themes; the project is organised by Acqua dell'Elba with the patronage of the Tuscany Region, the Tuscan Archipelago National Park, Legambiente, the Municipality of Marciana Marina, IULM University and the Brera Academy of Fine Arts. The festival is spread over three days, from Friday to Sunday, and it includes recreational, artistic, scientific and educational activities organised as follows:
- Morning: experience/seɪf/ - educational and recreational activities for children organised by Legambiente.
- Afternoon: workshop/seɪf/ in-depth meeting on cultural, social and political issues and significant case histories.
- Evening: live/seɪf/ - theme nights.
This project states Acqua dell'Elba's commitment to combine its own economic growth with the economic, social and cultural growth of the community in which it operates and the sustainable growth that enhances nature, the island and the sea - the real protagonist of this project - as a source of inspiration and life and therefore a precious resource for the company and for all of us.
