2024 EDITION

Acqua dell'Elba Foundation has built the SEIF program 2024 around the theme of "Connections" (by Nature, by Culture and for Love) with the aim of celebrating the extraordinary and the importance of all economic, environmental, cultural and social that the sea has allowed over time develop.

The structure of the sixth edition of the event, spread over three days, from Friday 28 June to Sunday 30 June 2024, and like every year the three days of the festival were divided into three parts with educational and experiential activities in the morning and afternoon; seminars at in the evening; and evening performances.

The great novelty of the 2024 edition is the large increase in morning and afternoon activities with no less than 10 different initiatives and free of charge, including free diving experiences, guided walks along the Via dell'Essenza, boat trips, and the exhibition curated by Tuscan Archipelago National Park, in addition to the activities of SEIF 4 Kids, a parallel mini-festival designed ad hoc to bring even the youngest children closer to the culture and protection of the marine ecosystem with events, educational workshops and popular dance workshops.

The pre-evenings were dedicated to seminars featuring people who have made the sea their reason for living. In particular, on Friday 28 June, guests were "Connected by Nature", thanks to the direct testimonies of those who, with commitment and dedication, try day after day to safeguard and enhance the sea and its beauty. The evening was an opportunity to take stock of the Pelagos Sanctuary, the only international marine area dedicated to the protection of marine mammals and their habitats in the Mediterranean Sea. Saturday 29 June instead was 'Connected by Culture', with speeches by those who also seek to protect and enhance its historical and economic relations: among the examples was that of 'The Phoenicians' Route', a cultural itinerary recognised by the Council of Europe that puts regenerative tourism at the centre.

Finally, the three evenings of theatre and music designed to promote a new culture of the sea, as in the case of the concert - created in collaboration with the International Festival Elba Isola Musicale d'Europa - dedicated to the famous composer Burt Bacharach and performed by singer Karima.

Also new at SEIF 2024 is the first edition of the Prize SEIF, set up to reward those who stand out for their commitment to the sea, with a project dedicated to environmental or social sustainability. The prize was delivered during the first evening of SEIF, on Friday 28 June at Marco Rossato

Also announced during the second evening of the festival was the adhesion of all schools in Elba to the European Blue Schools network, an initiative launched by the European Commission and promoted by UNESCO-IOC.
