Acqua dell’Elba Arts Prize

Acqua dell’Elba Arts Prize

The Acqua dell'Elba Arts Prize was established in 2016 and has always been held in partnership with the Brera Academy of Fine Arts.

The Prize aims to showcase the work of the most promising young art students of the Academy. Every year the students create pictorial, plastic and extra-media works inspired by the founding values of Acqua dell'Elba and, more generally, by the sea in all its dimensions.

Since 2022, the year in which the Arts Prize came under the management of the Acqua dell'Elba Foundation, the annual theme has been the same as that of the SEIF Festival: the aim is to bring environmental, economic and social issues linked to the sea - the specific goal of the festival - to the attention of the general public, also through the language of Art, in order to facilitate their understanding and dissemination.

Each year a selection of 20 students receive a brief and produce a work of art. The 20 works are then displayed in a professional exhibition hall, with a dedicated catalogue, in the same way as for major artists. For many it is their first exhibition. Of the 20 exhibited works, at least 3 receive the Prize, which consists of a scholarship of €1,500 each to partially cover the university fees.
