This is one of the longest and most challenging sections of the entire route. Thanks to the low-growing vegetation, this walk offers extensive views over the island's bays, the southern islands of the Archipelago and, on clearer days, Corsica as well. The trail starts from the town of Marina di Campo and follows the beach to the cliffs of the La Foce locality (path no. 248). Here, it climbs gently and then continues along a panoramic cart track surrounded by rosemary bushes and other Mediterranean maquis shrubs. The trail leads to the Ischia inlet and continues, by a small villa, onto an uneven path with a couple of ups and downs, both rising to about 70 metres above sea level. The location is charming yet harsh and wild.

Soon, we reach Fonza beach, surrounded by a few dwellings. From Fonza beach, the trail climbs, skirts around the property of Casa Marghieri and then heads back down to the sea near a few small villas. This is where we tackle the more challenging part of the trail. The ascent that will take us up to Mount Fonza, 296 metres above sea level, begins with a short path, accompanied by a cable, which starts from the small Cala dell'Ongio cove and climbs up the cliffs of Punta delle Mete. At the end of this section, the track is uneven and we are walking along the cliffs, so it is important to keep to the path and not lean over the nearby precipices.

The view is breathtaking. The ascent culminates on Mount Fonza, near a shepherd's hut, where the track (248 A) begins to descend, joining path 250, on the left. This leads us through Mediterranean maquis, still with spectacular views, onto the slope overlooking Lacona bay, then joins an uneven cart track leading us towards Laconella and Lacona.
