The "Education Project 2025-26" promoted by Fondazione Acqua dell'Elba focused on Fake News and was developed in collaboration with IULM University, involving ISIS Raffaello Foresi and ITCG Cerboni in Portoferraio.
Launched in November 2025 with the donation of new books to the school libraries and the presentation of the programme, the Project Work involved two third-year classes, Human Sciences at Foresi and Graphic Design at Cerboni, in a project developed throughout the school year as part of Civic Education. Its aim was to provide students with useful tools to recognise, analyse and critically interpret false or only partially true information, with particular attention to the dynamics of digital communication and social media.
Supported by Professor Fabrizia Malgieri from IULM University, the programme concluded in May 2026 with the presentation of the students' work. Through Socratic dialogue and debate, students put sources, arguments and different points of view to the test, starting from real-life cases: from reports about the alleged diets followed by athlete Gianmarco Tamberi to the famous hoax involving the Modigliani heads.
The experience was designed to develop critical thinking, the ability to ask questions and to engage in reasoned discussion: essential skills for navigating an information landscape in which distinguishing reliable news from false information is becoming increasingly complex.
Alongside Professor Malgieri, the project involved Professor Daria Trafeli for Foresi and Professor Ilaria Pini and Professor Giuseppe Cunti for Cerboni.
